Shapping tomorrow’s food
Agri-food professionals, researchers, and policymakers will gather this autumn to examine how microbiomes can reshape the way we produce, process, and consume food. The Microbiomes4SustainableFood Cluster Event Day, organised by the Microbiomes4SustainableFood Cluster, offers a platform for sharing the latest findings from Horizon Europe-funded projects operating at the crossroads of microbiome research, agriculture, food production, and human health.
The programme spans the entire food value chain demonstrating how microbiome science is opening new possibilities in sustainable farming practices, next-generation food processing techniques, stronger food safety standards, and better nutritional outcomes.
The day goes beyond a simple showcase of research. It is designed as a meeting point where scientists, public authorities, companies, and farmers can engage directly with one another, tackling the practical questions that determine whether scientific progress actually reaches the field and the market: how should regulation evolve, where are the remaining gaps in data and knowledge, and what will it take to move promising research into commercial and agricultural practice? Through this exchange, the event aims to speed up the journey from laboratory discovery to real-world application, while feeding directly into EU-level priorities such as the Green Deal and the Farm to Fork Strategy.
